iOS Engineer

Responsibilities

As an iOS Engineer at Velos, you will:

Work on a variety of projects for our clients. Often from an idea phase through shipping a 1.0 and beyond, or sometimes helping add a killer feature to an existing product.
Have an opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, highly experienced Senior Velos engineers.
Interact and participate in the design process with our design team or with our clients' designers.
Participate in an Agile process.

Experience

We’re looking for someone that has:

Experience with and understanding of the Agile methodology
Familiarity with Jira or other bug trackers
An eye for design and can work with designers to make pixel-perfect, complex user interfaces
A strong understanding and experience with Kotlin and Android
Willingness to learn and use new frameworks and libraries
Attention to detail for not only UI/UX implementation, but architectural design. We value clean, understandable, testable code.

Senior iOS Engineer

Responsibilities

As a Senior iOS Engineer at Velos, you will:

Work on a variety of projects for our clients. Often from an idea phase through shipping a 1.0 and beyond, or sometimes helping add a killer feature to an existing product.
Have an opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, highly experienced Senior Velos engineers.
Interact and participate in the design process with our design team or with our clients' designers.
Participate in an Agile process.

Experience

We’re looking for someone that has:

Experience with and understanding of the Agile methodology
Familiarity with Jira or other bug trackers
An eye for design and can work with designers to make pixel-perfect, complex user interfaces
At least 5 years experience in software development and 2 years experience working with Swift and iOS.
Familiarity with dependency injection, MVVM/MVI, multi-module architecture, and reactive programming.
Comfort with both building a new app from scratch and contributing to large existing codebases.
Some experience with SwiftUI a plus
Shipped at least 1 application to the App Store, either as part of a team or solo
Attention to detail for not only UI/UX implementation, but architectural design. We value clean, understandable, testable code.

Experience with popular first-party and third-party frameworks and libraries, such as Android Architecture Components, Kotlin Coroutines, or Retrofit.
Familiarity with dependency injection, MVVM/MVI, multi-module architecture, and reactive programming.
Comfort with both building a new app from scratch and contributing to large existing codebases.
Ability to make technical decisions for the good of the app, and explain those decisions to non-technical audiences.
Shipped at least 1 application to Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, either as part of a team or solo.
Attention to detail for not only UI/UX implementation, but architectural design. We value clean, understandable, testable, maintainable code.

Responsibilities

As a Product Designer at Velos, you will:

Work closely with product managers and the client to map out the product vision.
Lead and particpate in ideation of new feature development, utilizing a variety of techniques to validate our ideas and promote learning.
Improve your skill set by working through the entire product design process of wireframing, visual design, prototyping, and user testing.
Find creative solutions to complex business problems, user interactions, or technical constraints.
Design for things at scale.
Help us hone our research process.

Experience

We’re looking for someone that has:

A strong portfolio demonstrating a clear understanding of distilling complex problems into elegant solutions using research, user flows, wireframing, and visual design
A drive characterized by empathy, care, and curiosity for how people use technology
Can demonstrably think in complex systems and can communicate effectively these ideas to those unfamiliar with them
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A love of expanding your skills and prioritizing learning
3+ years of experience designing software
